The project will widen and overlay 11.2 kilometres of road along the Great Northern Highway and construct a new bridge over Tickalara Creek including approach works and demolition and removal of the existing bridge.
These works will improve the efficiency of heavy freight vehicles, road safety and reliability along the project corridor.
The Australian Government will provide 80 per cent project costs capped up to a contribution of $34.6 million subject to Western Australia providing 20 per cent of project costs.
The project commenced construction in late 2019 and is expected to be completed mid 2021.
