The project will widen and overlay 11.2 kilometres of road along the Great Northern Highway, including approach works and construction of a new bridge over Tickalara creek.

The Australian Government has committed $34.6 million towards the $43.5 million project.
The project is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by late 2024.
