Project Description

Pavement strengthening and widening on approximately six kilometres of the Carpentaria Highway (between chainages 107-108.9km and 114.5-118.5km).


Benefits include:

  • Improved efficiency and network reliability
  • Improved connectivity between people with jobs and services, and goods with markets
  • Improved accessibility and connectivity of road networks
  • Improved road safety for all road users


The Australian Government committed $4 million towards this $5 million project, in partnership with the Northern Territory Government.


The project is scheduled to start in mid 2021 with construction to be completed by late 2021.
