Project Description

This project will deliver a higher capacity North-South Freight Route between Murray Bridge and Annadale, bypassing Adelaide. It involves various upgrades along the route via Ridley Road and Halfway House Road to remove speed restrictions and improve productivity.


Benefits include:

  • Improved road safety for all road users
  • Improve freight productivity
  • Improve efficiency and network reliability


The Australian Government will provide $9.6 million and the South Australian Government will provide $2.4 million towards this $12.0 million project.


Construction commenced in October 2020 and is expected to be completed in early 2022.
