This project is expected to prioritise shoulder widening for problem areas identified along an approximate 13 kilometre section of Railton Main Road. This will improve road safety and network efficiency for freight and road users along this busy corridor.
Upgrades to Railton Main Road will improve road safety for all road users and improve efficiency and network reliability.
The Australian and Tasmanian Governments are contributing $2 million each to this project.
Construction is expected to commence in early 2021 and be completed by early 2022.
