Project Description

This project is expected to progress construction of a new pedestrian underpass on the Midland Highway at Campbell Town. The underpass will address safety concerns and allow pedestrians, and particularly school students, to cross safely across this busy section of the Midland Highway.


The new pedestrian underpass will improve road safety for all road users and improve accessibility and connectivity of road networks.


The Australian Government is contributing $4.8 million and the Tasmanian Government $1.2 million to this project.


Construction is expected to commence in late 2021 and be completed by late 2022.
