Project Description

The project involves the planning work around viability of a variable speed limit system on the Tuggeranong Parkway between Cotter Road and the Glenloch Interchange to allow Transport Canberra City Services to vary speeds to manage traffic congestion.


This planning project is expected to consider benefits from a variable speed limit system, including:

  • Improved road safety for all road users
  • Reduced congestion and improve travel times
  • Improved efficiency and network reliability
  • Improved accessibility and connectivity of road networks


The Australian Government has committed $55 thousand to this project.


The project was completed in early 2022
