Project DescriptionThis project will deliver targeted safety improvements to high-risk sections of the Omeo Highway, including installation of targeted safety barriers, installation of additional warning and information signs with motorcycle friendly crash pads, initiatives to encourage safer driver behaviour through road marking strategies, and sealing entries and exits of existing rest areas. BenefitsThis project will improve road safety for regional communities and all road users, including commercial, heavy vehicle and tourist users. FundingThe Australian Government is contributing $1.1 million and the Victorian Government is contributing $0.3 million. TimetableConstruction commenced in February 2021 and was completed in June 2021. |
