This project will formalise the St George heavy vehicle breakdown pad. Works will include the reconstruction and widening of the existing facility, sprayed bitumen sealing and delivery of up to 10 parking bays for type 2 multi-combination vehicles.
- Providing an enhanced heavy vehicle decoupling/recoupling facility
- Improved freight efficiency
- Improved safety and operation of the existing facility
- Increased capacity of existing infrastructure
- Reduced operating and maintenance costs of the existing facility
The Australian Government has committed $1.64 million to this project.
The project is scheduled to commence in late 2021 and be completed by early 2022, weather permitting.
