The project will progressively upgrade priority sections of Duncan Road and Gordon Downs Road including road and drainage improvements, sealing of flood ways and gravel sheeting.
The project will improve the resilience of roads that service an aboriginal community, pastoral stations, and a dysprosium mine and production plant.
The Australian Government has committed $40.8 million towards the $51 million project.
Construction began in late 2019 and is expected to be completed in late 2022.
