Project Description

The project will reconstruct and realign a 25 km section between Widgiemooltha and Kambalda, together with shoulder sealing and the construction of an overtaking lane in each direction.

The additional funding will continue to improve safety on this important freight route.

  • Improved connectivity between people with jobs and services, and goods with market
  • Improved efficiency and network reliability


The Australian Government has committed $41.6 million towards the $52 million project.


Construction began in February 2021 and completed in July 2022.
