Project Description

The project will reconstruct and realign a 25 kilometre section between Widgiemooltha and Kambalda, together with shoulder sealing and the construction of an overtaking lane in each direction.

The additional funding will continue to improve safety on this important freight route.


Benefits include:

  • Improved road safety for all road users.
  • Improved connectivity between people with jobs and services, and goods with markets.
  • Improved efficiency and network reliability.



The Australian Government has committed $41.6 million towards the project.


Construction began in February 2021 and is expected to be completed in mid 2022.
