Project Description

The project will upgrade three sections, including:

  • Walgoolan Southern Cross: Replace Bridge 0629 offline, and realign the road approaches
  • Walgoolan Southern Cross: Widen Bridge 0630A online, and widen the existing road approaches
  • Coates Gully Section: Replace Bridge 0605 online, widen and improve geometry of the existing road approaches, and provide the formation for overtaking lanes.


The project will improve road safety and freight productivity for all road users.


The Australian Government has committed $32.4 million towards the $40.5 million project.


Construction is expected to begin in late 2021 and be completed in early 2023.
