Project Description

 The project includes:

  • Construction of a 5 kilometre realignment single carriageway
  • Construction of a single span concrete bridge over the duplicated rail

  • Construction of two access roads and relocation of the tourist information bay

  • Improved road safety for all road users.
  • Improved efficiency and network reliability.
  • Improved accessibility and connectivity of road networks.


The Australian Government has committed $50.2 million towards the $76 million project.


This project is expected to start construction in mid 2022 and be finished by mid 2023.
