Project Description

This project will deliver upgrades to priority locations between Hobart Airport and Southern Sorell under the Hobart to Sorell Corridor.

This project will duplicate the Midway Point Causeway (including McGees Bridge) and the Sorell Causeway.


  • Reduced congestion and improve travel times.
  • Improved road safety for all road users.
  • Improved efficiency and network reliability.


The Australian Government has committed $150 million towards the project.


Construction is expected to commence late 2024 and be completed by mid 2027.
