Project DescriptionThe Townsville to Roma Corridor is a key economic freight route that supports major industries including mining, agriculture and tourism.
The Townsville to Roma Corridor Upgrade is delivering targeted upgrades to the Gregory, Dawson and Carnarvon highways, and surrounding roads including the Dawson Developmental Road between Springsure and Tambo.
This Project involves the widening of the Gregory Highway to include additional turning lanes at the intersection with the Capricorn Highway. BenefitsThis Project is expected to provide greater access for high productivity freight vehicles to navigate the intersection in a safer environment and enhance regional connectivity through more effective freight movements. FundingThe Australian Government has committed $6.304 million towards the Project, in partnership with the Queensland Government. TimetableThis Project is expected to commence construction in early 2022 and be completed by mid 2023, weather permitting. |
