Project Description

Upgrade and seal approximately 4.5km of the Roper Highway, about 25km west of the community of Ngukurr.


  • Improved efficiency, freight capacity and network reliability.
  • Improved access, connecting  people with jobs and services, and goods with markets.
  • Improved road safety for road users


The Australian Government will contribute $4.3 million to the total project cost of $5.4 million. The project will be delivered in partnership with the Northern Territory Government.


Construction on the project began in September 2021 and completed in September 2022.
