The project is expected to increase the capacity of the park and ride facilities at Officer railway station on the Pakenham Line. The project is expected to deliver approximately 150 spaces and include disable car spaces, bicycle facilities, CCTV and public lighting upgrades.
The project is expected to address car park overflow and issues of informal parking at the railway station and surrounding suburban streets. The project will encourage greater use of public transport and reduce congestion on the roads.
The Australian Government is contributing $5 million.
The delivery schedule will be determined as planning on the project progresses and in consultation with the proponent.
