Project DescriptionThis project involves planning and delivery of upgrades to the New England Highway at Rocky Cut, Wingen, including realignment of the highway to remove tight curves. Benefits This project is expected to:
- improve road safety by delivering improved road geometry and wider cross sections that will reduce crash risks
- facilitate freight movements by providing a safe alignment for use by PBS 2B and 3A vehicles.
- increase traffic efficiency as a result of improved road geometry and wider cross sections. FundingThe Australian Government has committed $40 million to this project. TimetableThis project is expected to commence construction in early 2024 and be completed by late 2025. |
