VICCity of Port PhillipCity of Port Phillip - Broadway Bridge Superstructure Replacement, Elwood.The project scope is to strengthen the bridge superstructure by replacing crushed rock infill with reinforced concrete to extend the lifetime of the bridge and allow road limits to be lifted. Due to six of the seven bridge components having high heritage gradings, the reconstruction of the superstructure will be in a like-for-like format with the bridge retaining its current alignment, including retention of the existing 3 span bridge width (made up of 2x 2.8m traffic lanes and 1.7m cycle paths on each side separated by a large median with built up islands). All cycling, walking and car access will remain the same, including pedestrian raised crossings and pram ramps on the north and south of the Elwood canal.
