About the Active Transport Fund (ATF)

The ATF provides funding for the design and construction of new or existing bicycle and walking pathways to encourage the use of active transport. Through the program, $100 million in funding will be available from 2024-25 to 2028-2029. More information on the program is available on the Active Transport Fund web page.

The focus areas for the program are:

  • road safety
  • reducing transport emissions
  • active and liveable communities

Application feedback

The department facilitated an application feedback webinar in May 2025 for Western Australian applicants who requested feedback through WALGA. The below slides provide some high-level feedback that is relevant for all applicants that applied to the Active Transport Fund. The feedback is also relevant to other available Australian Government funding programs, such as the Safer Local Roads & Infrastructure Program.
