How to nominate a Black Spot

Nominations for Black Spot locations are invited from state and territory governments, local councils, community groups and associations, road user groups, industry and individuals.

Nominations can be made at any time, but there is only one assessment process per year.

Black Spot nomination forms

All nominations should be made on the official Black Spot Nomination Form. Complete the first page of the nomination form, and send it to your state or territory authority. Submissions are accepted via post or email. Sites that fail to meet eligibility criteria will not be considered

On receipt of a completed Black Spot Nomination Form, the relevant state or territory transport agency will examine the nominated site's eligibility, and may undertake an economic assessment of a treatment proposal. All nominations will be referred for consideration by the appropriate Consultative Panel, and will require the authorisation of the road owner.
