Landor-Meekatharra Road (rural road) - 121219-22WA-RTR
The road surface adjacent to the concrete river crossing over the Murchison River is susceptible to severe wash outs after rain events. Raised dust from passing heavy trucks and other vehicles causes a nuisance for the homestead next to the river crossing. The average approach speed to the river crossing is quite high, with bends in place to slow down the approach speed. These bends casn be dangerous. For example, slowing down from a speed of 100 kilometres per hour to a 40 kilometre per hour rated bend on the eastern approach with a gravel road surface causes a crash hazard.Extend the concrete by 20 metres on the eastern side of the river crossing and 30 metres on the western side. Reform and seal 400 metres of the existing gravel road approach on the eastern side of the river crossing. Reform and seal 4 kilometres of the existing gravel road approach on the western side of the river crossingTotal cost of proposed project is $1,085,619
