Hindmarsh Road (rural road) - 133849-25WA-RTR
Gravel is worn down to clay base which breaks up into bulldust and potholes in the dry and becomes slippery when wet.The gravel re-sheet process begins with clearing vegetation to the maintenance zone then building up the road formation using material sourced from existing drains and backslopes, which is then water binded, balanced and compacted to ensure stability. Conduct gravel sheeting and define drainage, 175 mm loose compacted to 150 mm ensuring new layer is water binded and compacted. A crossfall of 3-4% is established to facilitate proper drainage. Drainage is carefully defined to ensure proper water management and prevent erosion. We also propose to conduct total replacement of ten culverts located at straight line kilometre 7.71, 8.15, 9.46, 9.55, 10.15, 10.21, 10.78, 11.70, 11.71 and 11.99. The remaining $79,929 to complete this project will be funded by The Shire of Dowerin own source funding.Total cost of proposed project is $332,248
Bokal Road North - Darkan - 133929-25WA-RTR
The bridge requires the 5-year periodic maintenance as per the MRWA requirements.Works at Bokal Road North Bridge 4018A will include the deck maintenance , repairs to the expansion joints, signage, and abutment wing wall capping repairs. Intsallation of pile banding to abutment piles.
Bokal Road North - Darkan - 133930-25WA-RTR
The road surface is breaking, potholed, and deteriorating due to heavy vehicles, thus exposing rock and sand due to the lake of runoff.Gravel resheet, improve drainage, reform the road to specification standards, and prepare for future seal works.
Biddy Camm Road (Rural Road) - 133931-25WA-RTR
Biddy Camm Road is one of the most used roads for grain haulage to the Lake Grace CBH Grain Receival bin, and traverses almost the entire length of the Shire. This section is closer to Lake Grace town which makes it a converging point for outlying farms northeast of the Lake Grace Town, and as a result, the gravel road receives high volumes of heavy traffic around harvest time. This causes constant deep corrugation and material lost every year. Additionally there is a floodway that washes away with moderate rain and due to the surrounding lake system, water tends to bank up on the north side of the road. For the entire works section from SLK 4.25 to SLK 12.07, the gravel pavement will be resheeted with new gravel in preparation for a primerseal. 5 culverts will be replaced within this section to assist in stormwater movement and the floodway located around SLK 11.12 will be cement stabilised to a length of 1 kilometre. After gravel resheeting, the entire works section will be sealed with primerseal, and then new guideposts installed to both sides of the road. The road section directly to the west is sealed, so this is an extension of our sealed road network.
South Road, Currie (Rural Road) - 133932-25TAS-RTR
The above-mentioned sections of South Road were previously sealed using cold emulsion treatment, with some stretches having been widened using emulsion adjacent to existing bitumen. Over time, cracks had developed, potholes were forming, and in certain areas the surface had stripped away. While these defects have been addressed through recent patching and crack sealing works, the pavement remains vulnerable and requires a more durable treatment. To improve the pavement condition and extend its service life, we propose to reseal these sections with a single-coat hot bitumen seal using 10 mm sealing aggregate, providing a stable and long-lasting surface.
Bruce Street, Dandenong - 133980-25VIC-RTR
