William Angliss Drive - 067552-16QLD-RTR
The existing roundabout at the intersection of William Angliss Drive and Mervyn Crossman Drive is beyond capacity due to the continuing growth of the adjacent schools, William Ross High School and Southern Cross Catholic College. The intersection experiences heavy congestion during school periods which impacts both school traffic flow as well as commuting traffic travelling to other locations. In addition, pedestrians and particularly school children have difficulty crossing William Angliss Drive safely during periods of high traffic. The intersection will be upgraded to provide a larger capacity roundabout with additional lanes and approach storage, along with a west-to-east slip lane to allow through-traffic to avoid the roundabout constraints. A signalised pedestrian crossing will also be constructed on the Mervyn Cross Drive leg of the roundabout to provide safe pedestrian crossing which will also act as 'metering' device to improve flow through the roundabout a peak times (school drop-off and pick-up). Work Undertaken by BMD Urban Pty Ltd (ACN: 158 035 539) who are accredited under the WHS accreditation scheme until 04/03/2022.
