Bolwarra Road - 067578-16QLD-RTR
The existing causeway crossing over the Tate River requires significant repair work, is too low and is regularly overtopped by flood waters, which creates a severe safety hazard during the wet season for motorists. During flood events local residents become stranded because flood waters overtop the existing causeway. The proposal is to remove the existing low level causeway and replace with a 4.50m wide one lane concrete causeway which will provide a safer high level crossing over the Tate River.Total cost of proposed project is $1,576,164

The existing steel culvert under the road is severly damaged by rust and is likely to collapse in the near future, which will make the road impassable. The proposal is to line the internals walls of the existing large steel culvert with reinforced concrete. This will result in a new stronger concrete culvert under the road which will effectively replace the existing damaged steel culvert.
