Project description
The project has realigned the South Gippsland Highway from Old Koonwarra-Meeniyan Road to Minns Road. The project also widened shoulders and installed flexible safety barriers at selected locations between Meeniyan and Yarram, and constructed two new bridges over the Tarwin River.
Benefits
The project has improved safety and efficiency for all road users and is supporting economic growth in the region.
Funding
The total cost of the project was $115.2 million. The Australian and Victorian governments each contributed $57.6 million.
Timetable
Construction commenced in early 2020 and was completed in mid 2022.
