Project description
Upgrade roads infrastructure on and around the Northern Territory section of the Alice Springs to Halls Creek corridor.
Benefits
This project will improve:
- connectivity between people with jobs and services, and goods with markets
- road safety
- flood immunity on a key route in the region
- freight efficiency, travel times and economic productivity
Funding
The Australian Government has committed $210 million towards this $262.5 million project, in partnership with the Northern Territory Government.
Timetable
Construction on the corridor commenced in mid 2019. Upgrades to the corridor will continue on a rolling basis.
