The existing width of bitumen is too narrow for the amount of traffic using this street. The bitumen running surface does not extend to the existing kerb and channel becomes saturated in the wet season. This causes the gravel pavement under the bitumen to also become saturated and break up under traffic. The proposed works include the reconstruction of the failed sections of existing bitumen roadway and widen the existing bitumen sealed pavement to the kerb and channel. This will prevent future infiltration of moisture into the road pavement and provide extra road width to accomodate the amount of traffic using this street.Total cost of proposed project is $122,000
