M1 Productivity Package
The M1 Productivity Package consists of three projects including:Kariong to Somersby (and Kariong interchange) — widening of an 8km section of the M1 Pacific Motorway between the Somersby and Kariong interchanges from four lanes to six lanes and upgrades to three of the four interchange ramps that provide the main arterial access to and from the motorway to the Central Coast Highway and the city of Gosford. This excludes a 1.5km section on the southbound carriageway between the Kariong interchange southbound exit and entry ramps;Tuggerah to Doyalson — widening of 12km of the M1 Pacific Motorway between the Tuggerah interchange and the Doyalson interchange from four to six lanes and pavement strengthening; andWeakleys Drive Intersection — upgrade of the intersection to increase capacity.
Pacific Highway – Woolgoolga to Ballina
This project has constructed 155km of four-lane divided highway between the Arrawarra Interchange in the south and the Ballina Bypass in the north. The project included upgrades of the existing northbound carriageways of the four-lane divided sections at Glenugie and Devils Pulpit and upgrades of the intersections at the existing four-lane divided section at Halfway Creek. The upgrade has been delivered using a Tailored Delivery Partner model. Under this model, a major provider with design, building and management expertise was engaged to oversee the project in collaboration with the NSW Roads and Maritime Services Pacific Highway Office.
Riverside Drive
The project stabilised and reconstructed parts of Riverside Drive at Nambucca Heads in northern NSW. The road was previously prone to landslips during periods of wet weather. The works were undertaken over two sections: Section 1 - approximately 500 metres between the Nambucca Heads tourist information centre and the northern entrance to Woodbell Street near the tidal flats Section 2 - approximately 40 metres between Piggott Street and Nelson Street.
Stages One and Two of Implementation of the Advanced Train Management System
The Advanced Train Management System is a communications based safe working system being developed by the Australian Rail Track Corporation to replace traditional trackside signalling across the interstate rail network including the Hunter Valley rail network. It uses GPS navigation systems, broadband communications and state-of-the-art computer technology to locate and route trains in real time. The early stages of the implementation of the ATMS involves deploying a communications based safe working system on a section of track between Port Augusta and Whyalla in South Australia (Stage One), and a 1,280km section of track for ATMS between Port Augusta and Kalgoorlie (Stage Two).
Barton Highway Improvement Strategy
The Improvement Strategy will guide the ongoing improvement of the road corridor within the corridor boundaries determined in 2011 for a future duplication of the Barton Highway.
Notting - Karlgarin Road,Rural Road - 051688-13WA-RTR
Gravel has been affected by salt which has resulted in deterioration of pavement surface. This road is unsafe along this section.Resheet with gravel at 100mm in depth.
Ferguson Road, Dardanup - 051689-13WA-RTR
The sealed road is narrow and at the end of its useful life.Widen and reconstruct the pavement and seal to 7.2 metres wide.Total cost of proposed project is $503,943
Boyup Brook North Road (Rural Road), Boyup Brook - 051690-13WA-RTR
Boyup Brook North Road has a 6 metre seal which has tree branches and vegetation encroaching into the road way, restricting site distances and hitting passing heavy vehicles and cars as they use the road.Prune overhanging branches and vegetation so that they do not encroach into the pavement.
Mermaid Circuit (Rural - Top End) - 051691-13NT-RTR
The road is unsealed with poor drainage. Water is pooling in several localities presenting a significant hazard to local motoristsDrainage improvements at various locations between ch 0 and ch 4.18 km to enable a positive flow.
Ferry Road - 051705-13QLD-RTR
Inadequate Road Profile, cross-fall and longitudinal drainageThe Proposed works would include re-profiling the main land access road into the NPA (Ferry Road). The re profiling would include:- i) increasing the cross-fall to allow for adequate run-off from the road and reduce water infiltration into the pavement, causing weak spots ii)Clearing out and or re-constructing longitudinal table drains beside the road formation to allow redirection of water to major cross drainage locations and protection of the pavement from water infiltration iii)Rectification works as required by the Superintendent along the road in preparation for sealing of the road. (It is proposed that complementary funding be sought to allow for the nominated section of Ferry Road to be sealed to allow an all weather access to the Northern Peninsula Area.)
