Peachey Road, Davoren Park, - 068856-16SA-RTR
Peachey Rd is the major collector road running through the Davoren Park and Smithfield Plains Urban Renewal areas. The Peachey Rd Upgrade is viewed as a key project to address: road safety issues, improve economic development in the region, and boost adjoining resident ammenity. Council has already made significant investment in stage 1,2 and 3 of the project, with this section representing stage 4 of the upgrade. Peachey Rd is currently in very poor condition, having been built many decades ago at a standard below what is required given the rapid urban expansion, growth, and infill being experienced in Davoren Park, Smithfield Plains and Munno Para West. The currently wide road is encouraging high speeds from motorist, making it unsafe for cyclists and pedestrians alike.Works at this location will include 0.8 km of: reconstruction of pavement to accommodate growth in traffic, realignment of kerb to facilitate parking bays, bike lane, and 1 narrower through lane in each direction (separated by large central median), new underground stormwater infrastructure to accommodate additional runoff from housing redevelopment, new wide footpath both sides of the road, and new landscape treatments throughout (the later paid for from own source funding).Total cost of proposed project is $3,454,116
Brandis Road, Munno Para West - 068857-16SA-RTR
Munno Para West is an area of the City of Playford that is experiencing rapid urban development. As the area was formerly rural living, local collector roads are at a rural standard i.e. narrow, spray sealed and with swale drains. A bus route has been added in this area to cater for the booming population, however it is proving hazardous for the bus, pedestrians and other road users to navigate the current narrow existing road. Brandis Rd needs to be upgraded to an urban standard, and this proposed project represents between Blandy Rd and Andrews Rd.Reconstruction and road widening, including new pavement, seal, kerb and associated underground drainage, footpath and lighting.Total cost of proposed project is $3,040,469
