Hallowells Road (rural road) - 094150-17VIC-RTR
The road pavement is uneven and deteriorated. There is some potholing and roughness along the length. The road will be mixed with a stabilizer, regulation, material applied, reshaped and sealed.Total cost of proposed project is $314,000
Goodwood Road (rural road) - 094151-17VIC-RTR
The road pavement is uneven and deteriorated. There is some potholing and roughness along the length. The road will be mixed with a stabilizer, regulation material applied, reshaped and sealed.Total cost of proposed project is $198,000
Macarthur Cemetery Road (rural road) - 094152-17VIC-RTR
The road pavement is uneven and deteriorated. There is some potholing and roughness along the length. The road will be mixed with a stabilizer, regulation material applied, reshaped and sealed.Total cost of proposed project is $170,000
Murtho Road (Rural Road) - 094153-17SA-RTR
Murtho Road's current seal is failing and contains severe cracking, is extremely rough, loose material is forming and is subject to dust. The road is a designated B-Double Route and provides for access for a large horticultural area that is rapidly expanding. This is the final section of a three year project which received Special local Roads RTR funding for the first two stages. The 16km section of road will be resealed and include shape correction to repair wheel rutting and assist with water run off. Work includes the removal or mulching of roadside vegetation, replacement of faded and missing signs and posts, new line marking, roadside shoulder upgrades, box out problem areas like inside bends,Total cost of proposed project is $300,000
Wandilo Forest Road (Rural Road) - 094154-17SA-RTR
This project is (Stage 2 of 4) with Stage 1 being previously being funded out of Special Local Roads Program - RTR. The existing roadway is made up of a different combination of materials, the road is in poor condition with either overgrown shoulders or non-existent shoulders. In wetter weather water pools in wheel paths with aquaplaning a high risk. Stormwater doesn't currently drain away from the road adequately causing soft and boggy areas by the road. Significant maintenance of the road is required constantly for safety as the road is a light and heavy vehicle route to Mount Gambier and provides heavy vehicles access to the heavy vehicle bypass to the north of the major centre. The 2.0 kilometre section will be reconstructed with a 10 metre wide formation including 2 x 3.5 metre wide traffic lanes and 1.5 metre wide shoulders. A stabilisation treatment will be applied and a 150 millimetre basecourse layer of PM2 material will be constructed followed by a two-coat spray seal.Total cost of proposed project is $600,000
Nine Mile Road (Rural Road) - 094155-17SA-RTR
The unsealed road surface is experiencing numerous potholes with significant vegetation at the edge of the road. Combined with the significant daily traffic usage including freight, and 100km speed limit there is significant maintenance costs being incurred and a high level of safety risk to travellers. The project will ensure a continuous sealed road linkage between the townships of Milang and Strathalbyn providing community access in particular to the residents of Milang who utilise the road for daily commuting and accessing commercial precincts in Strathalbyn and Mouth Barker. Previously, Stage 1 was funded out of the Special Local Roads Program (RTR)Stage 2 of the work proposed includes sealing and widening of 1.6 kilometres of Nine Mile Road to bring it up to a 9.2 metre standard width (current road width varies between 5-7.2 metres), significant roadside vegetation removal, pavement reconstruction, road surface sealing and geometrical improvements.Total cost of proposed project is $546,000
Druid Range Road (Rural Road) - 094156-17SA-RTR
Druid Range Road is to be sealed/upgraded and used to re-route heavy vehicle traffic from the main town center at Hawker. Council has worked with the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure for approval of this to occur. The risk of accidents/incidents is high due to tourist traffic and pedestrians especially during the tourist season. The work proposed includes sealing a previously unsealed 1.3km section of Druid Range Road to PBS-L3 Double Road Train standard. Pavement thickness and durability will be brought up to 300mmTotal cost of proposed project is $430,000
Kentish Road (Rural Road) - 094157-17SA-RTR
Kentish Road is a regionally significant road that provides primary local access to the township of Gawler Belt, and provides access to Xavier College and the Adelaide Soaring Club. The road carries approximately 2,500 vehicles per day increasing to 2,850 during school periods. The works will provide a cross-section that supports good traffic flow near a school area and will formalise movements associated with school pickups and dropoffs, making the road and associated area safer. The road configuration will eliminate illegal parking and discourage dangerous manouevres that are often evidenced near schools..The work proposed includes the rehabilitation and upgrade to achieve a minimum service life of 25 years and fit for purpose width and pavement design. The upgrade incorporates, pavement strengthening, new surfacing, road widening, kerb and gutter improvement, indented parking, improved traffic management and footpaths. It will also be of sufficient width to allow safe cycling and also enable future cycling connections.Total cost of proposed project is $612,000
Crittenden Road, Smithfield Plains - 094158-17SA-RTR
At present, the two ends of Crittenden Road are segregated by Smith Creek and are not connected. Crittenden Road extension is a key element of the Playford Alive master Plan and supports the vision for the overall area in providing a highly connected street pattern providing motorists with multiple route options and linkages between the original suburbs ‘Smithfield Plains’ and the newer suburbs ‘Andrews Farm. Crittenden Road is identified as a Minor Collector Road and is not currently serviced by Public Transport and with the road extension it is anticipated this will serve as an alternative route for East-West connectivity, given that both John Hartley School and St Columbia College are within the localised vicinity. The work proposed includes construction of a new kerbed urban road connection matching into the existing sections of Crittenden Road, consisting of new road granular pavement, asphalt wearing course, upright kerbing, guard rail, footpath, shared use path, pedestrian fencing, LED road lighting and pavement marking. Construction of a concrete box culvert crossing sized for the 1 in 100 year ARI storm event across Smith Creek consisting of new, reinforced concrete box culverts, link slab, scour protection, headwalls and gabion walls. Associated earthworks with the construction of the new road connection and culvert crossing.Total cost of proposed project is $1,539,000
Carclew Road, Penfield Gardens - 094159-17SA-RTR
At present Carclew Road is an unsealed undivided two way two lane road and is of approximate length of 3.2km, and provides connection from Angle Vale road to McGee Road. The construction of a sealed and kerbed road will provide an improved road surface that will reduce noise, dust and air pollutants/emmissions. The construction of Carclew Road will open up opportunities for economic development for the horticultural sector for warehousing distribution and export opportunities.Proposed works includes construction of a new sealed road consisting of new road granular pavement, asphalt wearing course, granular pavement and road shoulders, construction/regrading of roadside swales. Associated earthworks with the construction of the new road connection.Total cost of proposed project is $1,600,000
