Commonwealth funding for land transport infrastructure is administered under the National Land Transport Act 2014 and governed by the Federation Funding Agreement Schedule on Land Transport Infrastructure Projects 2024-2029 (FFAS), which came into effect on 11 August 2024.
You can find the FFAS on the Federal Financial Relations website.
The FFAS supports the delivery of infrastructure projects and sets out how the Commonwealth and state and territory governments (states) will work together to deliver infrastructure projects for the benefit and wellbeing of Australians.
Details of the Commonwealth's and states’ estimated financial contributions agreed under the FFAS are set out in funding tables for each state, also available with the FFAS on the Federal Financial Relations website. These are updated if contributions change (usually after the Federal Budget process and as required).
Notes on Administration
