Poor quality road construction materials available locally to road.Reshape formation and table drains. Raise overall height of formation. Causeway Road, Weeroona Island - 130597-24SA-RTR
This 2.1 km section of road is the only road that feeds Weeroona Island which is home to over 200 people and is expanding. This causeway road is potholed and in need of edge break work as Council have widened it in recent months. Council have widened and repaired the 2.1 km section of road addressing potholes and edge breaks on one side of the causeway, leaving the other side of the causeway yet to be instated. This would require widening the shoulder for 2.1 km and compacting with suitable product, raised and crushed locally preparing surface for reseal. Council have under their maintenance regime completed potholes on the entire road surface for the entire length and edge break work on one side. There will be a short fall in funds to complete the project of $30,000 which will be supplemented by the Council. This project is well needed as it is the life line to the Island as the only road in and out of the Island community. It is also frequented by many tourists that visit the Island along with many people that participate in recreational fishing.
Moyhall Road, Naracoorte SA - 130651-24SA-RTR

Gulf View Drive, Weeroona Island - 130656-24SA-RTR
This section of road has suffered over the years from water rutting the edges and in places, rutts crossing the roadway. This section of road needs attention to re-shape the road so the water will not affect the road surface and water will be directed to the side of the roadway.Council plan to do this inhouse and have the capacity and expertise to achieve the desired result. Proposed work will include cultivating the existing road product with FAE road buster and preparing the product on site ready for re-sheeting. Grader to re-shape and re-sheet road with water moisture and roller compacted. once compacted a final trim with grader over the section of road.
