2026-27 Budget

Through the 2026–27 Budget, the Australian Government is continuing to invest in priority land transport projects that support productivity, resilience, liveability and sustainability through the Infrastructure Investment Program.

Australian Privacy Principle 5 Notice

Your submission, including any personal information supplied, is being collected by the department for the purpose of seeking public and industry comment on the approach and content of its proposed cost estimation guidance, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act).

Your personal information will be stored securely by the department. It may be used by the department to make further contact with you about the consultation process. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other third parties, except in the circumstances outlined below.

Submissions, in part or full, including the name of the author may be published on the department's website or in the Government's response, unless the submission is confidential. Confidential submissions (including author name) will not be published. Private addresses and contact details will not be published or disclosed to any third parties unless required by law.

Submissions will only be treated as confidential if they are expressly stated to be confidential. Automatically generated confidentiality statements or disclaimers appended to an email do not suffice for this purpose. If you wish you make a confidential submission, you should indicate this by ensuring your submission is marked confidential.

Confidential submissions will be kept securely and will only be disclosed in the following circumstances:

  • in response to a request by a Commonwealth Minister;
  • where required by a House or a Committee of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia; or where required by law.

The department may also disclose confidential submissions within the Commonwealth of Australia, including with other Commonwealth agencies, where necessary in the public interest.

Please note that in order to protect the personal privacy of individuals in accordance with the Privacy Act any submissions containing sensitive information, personal information or information which may reasonably be used to identify a person or group of people may not be published, even if not marked as confidential.

Swerdna Downs Road (Rural Road) - 130783-24QLD-RTR
The road surface material is progressively reaching the end of its useful life and requires renewal to reduce increased annual maintenance costs.It is proposed to undertake gravel re-sheet on the Swernda Road.
Primaries Road, Roma - 130784-24QLD-RTR
The main access to the Roma Saleyards Precinct from the Warrego Highway becomes congested with heavy vehicles entering and exiting the precinct and poses safety concerns with interactions with other road users.The project will provide a bitumen extension to Primaries Road that will provide an alternate access to improve traffic management and connectivity to the Roma Saleyards Precinct. The project is jointly funded with the Australian Government Heavy Vehicle Safety Productivity Program and Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program and Maranoa Regional Council.Total cost of proposed project is $3,241,802

Hamiltons Road, Yea - 053519-14VIC-RTR
Existing seal and pavement has badly deteriorated and is unsafe for vehicles due to the many pothole patches and irregularities on the road surfaces.Nominal pavement width to be increased to 4m. Renewal of low standard pavement with minimum 80mm fine crushed rock.
Mud Hut Road (West), Weethalle - 130852-24NSW-RTR
This road has a 4.5 m wide gravelled surface which has a combination of extensive gravel loss and other failures including potholes, rutting and loss of surface shape. Work is required on this section of road to make it safe for road users.Re-gravel sections of road affected by gravel loss with 75 mm of compacted gravel, wet grade all sections of road that are affected by potholes, rutting and loss of surface shape, reinstate table drains and mitre drains both sides of roadway.
