Puti Drive (Main Road) - 048522-12NT-RTR
Puti Driove is a main road in the community with a high level of daily traffic. The road is at risk of erdoing due to inadequate barriers between the road edge and the ocean. Currently, the waters edge is less than 3 metres from the edge of the existing bitumen road. Erosion is occuring at a rate of 200mm per annum.Installation of a 4.5 metre deep x 125 metre long tapered solid rock and concrete wall. This will act as a barrier between the roads edge and the ocean and cease any further erosion. It will increase the distance between the ocean and the road to 7.5 metres.
Poantumili St, Wurrumiyanga - 048523-12NT-RTR
Due to the wet season down pours the bitumen from the intersection down along Poantumili Street has completely eroded. This causes the intersection to become unusable as the non-bitumen area turns to mud.Dig out and fill the 20 metre area which abutts the existing bitumen with rock. Shape up the area and install pavers.
Malawu Street, Wurrumiyanga - 048524-12NT-RTR
This road is the main access raod to the largest residntial area at Wurrumiyanga. The existing bituimen over the main drainage pipes has sunk by approximately 250mm which has created a significant safety issue.Dig out existing bitumen and stablise the area. Shape up and pave the area so the pavers are level with the road bitumen.Total cost of proposed project is $19,859
Wuraga Road, Bahrs Scrub - 048525-12QLD-RTR
The configuration and profile of the existing road is insufficient to cater for traffic volumes resulting from development within the Bahrs Scrub area. The existing geometry of the road is also below the desired standards to cater for the road capacity and speed environment. The works proposed involve reconstructing the existing road to a two lane urban road standard. The project involves widening of the existing pavement and improving the horizontal and vertical geometry of the road. The Wuraga Road / Menora Road intersection and Wuraga Road / Prangley Road / Teys Road intersection will also be upgraded to cater for the increased traffic volumes and speed environment as part of this reconstruction.Total cost of proposed project is $3,700,000
Third Avenue, Berrinba - 048526-12QLD-RTR
The existing linkage (extension of Third Avenue) is insufficient to carry the proposed level of traffic as outlined by Council's Structure Plan for the development of this portion of Berrinba. The Structure Plan has identified the need for this major spine road to provide a connection for the development into the existing major road network. The construction of this road will provide a catalyst and access for economic growth in the area. With the construction of the new major road, local traffic will be separated from arterial traffic and loading on the local road network should subsequently be reduced. This project is part of a staged connection of Third Avenue to Gilmore Road and Stage 3 is the continuation of Third Avenue between the Bardon Road roundabout and the Logan Motorway underpass. The scope of the project includes the construction of a new four-lane road and the closure of the existing linkage to provide a cul-de-sac for existing residential properties. The works include miscellaneous works related to the pavement construction, including but not limited to, associated telecommunication, electrical and water service relocations, cross-road drainage infrastructure and reinstatement of commercial and residential driveways which are affected by the works.Total cost of proposed project is $3,000,000
Cape Forecroy Rd (Rural Rd) - 048527-12NT-RTR
This is the main access right to the south west of Bathurst ISland. Significant vegetation has overgron onto the road which has significantly narrowed the width of the road to one lane.Clearing the vegetation and shrubs on the road to widen it back to its original width and re-establish the spur drains.
