Australian Privacy Principle 5 Notice

Your submission, including any personal information supplied, is being collected by the department for the purpose of seeking public and industry comment on the approach and content of its proposed cost estimation guidance, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act).

Your personal information will be stored securely by the department. It may be used by the department to make further contact with you about the consultation process. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other third parties, except in the circumstances outlined below.

Submissions, in part or full, including the name of the author may be published on the department's website or in the Government's response, unless the submission is confidential. Confidential submissions (including author name) will not be published. Private addresses and contact details will not be published or disclosed to any third parties unless required by law.

Submissions will only be treated as confidential if they are expressly stated to be confidential. Automatically generated confidentiality statements or disclaimers appended to an email do not suffice for this purpose. If you wish you make a confidential submission, you should indicate this by ensuring your submission is marked confidential.

Confidential submissions will be kept securely and will only be disclosed in the following circumstances:

  • in response to a request by a Commonwealth Minister;
  • where required by a House or a Committee of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia; or where required by law.

The department may also disclose confidential submissions within the Commonwealth of Australia, including with other Commonwealth agencies, where necessary in the public interest.

Please note that in order to protect the personal privacy of individuals in accordance with the Privacy Act any submissions containing sensitive information, personal information or information which may reasonably be used to identify a person or group of people may not be published, even if not marked as confidential.

Brigalow - Canagah Creek Road, Chances Plain (Rural Road) - 048597-12QLD-RTR
The road has reached the end of its useful life and isn't wide enough to cope with the increased current traffic volumes.Reconstruction of pavement to 9 m wide.
Forest Road, West Hobart. - 048606-12TAS-RTR
Council approved an application to subdivide land at 160 Forest Road, West Hobart. The approved subdivision will create an additional 95 allotments. During the approval process for the subdivision, it was noted that the western end of Forest Road was narrow in places without adequate infrastructure, such as kerbs, underground drainage and footpaths. It was considered that Forest Road in its present state would not be suitable to cater for the additional traffic that would result from the proposed subdivision.The proposed works include widening the carriage way, providing pedestrian footpath on one side, improved stormwater drainage and associated retaining walls,Total cost of proposed project is $670,000

Upper Domain Road, Queens Domain, Hobart - 048612-12TAS-RTR
Poor sight distance at entrance to major sporting facilityThis project improves the intersection to the new Car Park at the Domain Athletics Centre and Soldiers Memorial Walk. The project relocates the intersection to improve sight distances and provides for better public transport access. The works are being undertaken as part of the Domain Master Plan works.Total cost of proposed project is $775,000
Flinders Street, Thornbury - 048613-12VIC-RTR
Poor road condition, narrow pavement width, lack of kerb and channel, drainage problems, lack of footpath on the southern side of the road. Essentially this is an older style of road construction that is now only seen in rural areas. Works have been continually de-prioritised due to the lack of house frontages on the street, however with increasing levels of development and new properties facing onto the road, a higher level of service is expected.Full reconstruction of road pavement, installation of kerb and channel, installation of underground drainage, installation of footpath.Total cost of proposed project is $309,900
Thomas Street, Broken Hill - 048614-12NSW-RTR
Rehabilitate road pavement to manage water table causeing failed road subbase due to excesive water. Water table has risen in the area and the ground water has had an adverse affect on the integrity of the sub base and wearing surface. (Stage 2)Extensive heavy patching, crack sealing and sub base rejuvination over 6146m2 of pavement. Installation of concrete surface dishes and sub soil drains to direct stormwater flows away from site. Extensive rehabilitation to be carried out useing stabilisation techneques and concrete wearing pavement in worst affected areas.
Raleigh Street, Thornbury - 048615-12VIC-RTR
Poor pavement condition, drainage issues, kerb and channel in poor alignment leading to water ponding.Pavement reconstruction, upgrade of stormwater drainage and replacement of kerb and channel.
Lane Street & Oxide Street Roundabout Intersection, Broken hill - 048616-12NSW-RTR
Rehabilitate completely failed sub base and wearing surface at intersection caused by continual turning movements of local traffic at roundabout.Excavate exsisting area of 650m2 of existing sub base and wearing surface surface and replace with concrete pavement
Nelson Road - 048619-12TAS-RTR
Poor road drainage leading to flooding of private property.The project involves the extension and augmentation of road drainage infrastructure including new kerb and gutter, installation of a table drain to contain road runoff and to assist in inundation prevention for a number of properties on the low side of Nelson Road. Lack of adequate drainage in Nelson Road has often been raised by local residents.Total cost of proposed project is $120,000
Waterworks Road - 048622-12TAS-RTR
Unsafe vehicle speeds in residential street.Construction of road narrowing points to calm traffic to provide safe crossing points for pedestrains.Total cost of proposed project is $70,000
