The pavement has reached a condition where structural failure is occurring, resulting in surface defects and reduced road serviceability. In addition, existing kerbing infrastructure has deteriorated substantially, with extensive cracking and damage evident throughout the project area. The proposed works involve rehabilitation of the existing road through pavement stabilisation to restore and strengthen the structural capacity of the pavement, followed by installation of a new asphalt wearing surface to improve ride quality and extend the asset life. The project also includes removal and replacement of damaged kerbing throughout the affected section to restore drainage function and improve road edge integrity. Supplementary funding for this project will be provided through the City of Kwinana’s municipal funds.

The deteriorated condition of the infrastructure may affect road user safety, accessibility and the overall functionality of the transport network within the area.
