Tyabb-Tooradin Road is a local arterial road that provides secondary access to Port of Hastings. It carries a significant volume (over 10%) of heavy vehicles. There is a major culvert that is failing and the Shire has received structural engineering advice that the bridge is no longer suitable for heavy vehicles. The bridge is also narrower than the surrounding road pavement. The culvert needs replacement in order to be able to service heavy vehicles again.Reconstruct culvert, including widening to allow continuation of sealed shoulders, in order to be able to service heavy vehicles using the route.Total cost of proposed project is $626,038
Tyabb-Tooradin Road, Somerville - 053533-14VIC-RTR
The intersection of Tyabb-Tooradin Road and Bungower Road in Somerville is a high-risk 5-leg intersection which requires urgent operational improvements to address the recent history of minor crashes. Both roads are high speed rural standard roads and increasing traffic volumes on the secondary approach Bungower Road (from 400 to 4,000vpd) over recent years has lead to the increasing trend of crashes at the site.A roundabout is proposed for the intersection which will improve road safety risks to motorists. Works will also provide for improved delineation and drainage.Total cost of proposed project is $1,400,706

Browns Road, Boneo - 053536-14VIC-RTR
A 1.2 km section of Boneo is built through a wetland / swamp. The sub-base through this section is failing, causing the road pavement and seal to break up. The existing road is also quite narrow for its function as the secondary access to the end of the Mornington Peninsula. Traffic volumes on Boneo exceed 10,000vpd through the summer months.Reconstruct the sub-base of the road, including the installation of box culverts, and road widening / sealed shoulder cosntruction.Total cost of proposed project is $1,857,034
