Asphalting is completed to protect the road base and improve road surface.Total cost of proposed project is $3,288,977
One Tree Hill Road (Playford) - 109965-20SA-RTR
The Road Safety Audit undertaken in July 2019 indicates that safety improvements are required for this section of the road. The current road condition of One Tree Hill Road is very poor as the road surface suffers from cracking, stripping of the seal, poor vertical alignment with sight distance issues, poor line marking delineation and signage that is not representative to the road alignment with poor reflectivity. The road has reached the reconstruction stage of its asset lifecycle, and therefore requires pavement reconstruction due to its narrow width, failed pavement and seal, the poor road and shoulder drainage. One Tree Hill Road is sign posted 80km/hr, and has approximately 3350 vehicle per day with 8% of commercial vehicles. The widening of the road, shoulders, new line marking and signage upgrade will improve the safety of this section of One Tree Hill Road. The work proposed includes widening and reconstructing of the 2.6km section of One Tree Hill Road with a new pavement, seal, increased shoulder width, new line marking and signage, including the intersections of One Tree Hill Road and Shillabeer Road, One Tree Hill Road and Melville Road and One Tree Hill Road and Hannaford Hump Road. The works identified as part of this project will appropriately mitigate the items raised through the Road Safety Audit. At the completion of the works this section of road will be increased from 6.50m to 7.40m, 3.20m lane widths with 1.0m shoulders (0.5m sealed and 0.5m unsealed) Works also include, review guidepost location, alignment and spacing and removing redundant posts behind beams/barriers. Install double barrier line and yellow RRPM’s to standards along the road section. Install edge lines and RRPM’s. Remove/trim roadside vegetation to improve approach sight distance and visibility to and from property accesses. Improve property access transition to roadway. Grading verge areas where possible to reduce ponding and scouring; Improve clear zone by trimming/removing vegetation encroachment/overhang along the roadside and clear roadside debris.Total cost of proposed project is $2,200,000
