The Logan Road and Deshon Street intersection has been identified as a location requiring an upgrade to improve safety for all road users. With a high traffic volume, the intersection currently has extended wait times for motorists travelling along Logan Road due to motorists misjudging safe gaps in the traffic when turning from Logan Road into Deshon Street. Furthermore, between 2016 and 2022, there have been 11 recorded crashes at the intersection, 6 of which were due to this movement from Logan Road into Deshon Street. The project will improve the intersection by upgrading the traffic signal lanterns and extending the Logan Road right-turn pocket to improve safety for all road users. This includes upgrading the existing traffic signals to fully control the right-turn movement from Logan Road into Deshon Street, realign the pedestrian crossing facilities on Logan Road and installing a kerb build out on the Northern corner of Deshon Street to reduce crossing distance. The project aims to enhance the overall operation of the intersection and improve connectivity for people walking and riding through the area.Total cost of proposed project is $943,148
