Magazine Road (Rural Road) - 124406-23SA-RTR
The road pavement has insufficient thickness. There is a rutting – pavement interactive. The road requires full pavement reconstruction due to its narrow width, heavy vehicle loading, failed pavement and seal, poor road, and shoulder drainage. The road is in an 80km hour zone and has a large amount of intersection between heavy vehicles and commuter vehicles with the widening of the road and shoulders improving safety. The work proposed includes widening and reconstructing the whole section of Magazine Road with a pavement that is suitable for long term (future projections with growth) heavy vehicle loading of adequate width and shoulders/clear zones. The road surface suffers from heavy rutting and poor drainage. All road requires full reconstruction. The overall carriageway width will be increased from 6m to 8.6m with pavement to be surfaced to a thicker from 300mm to 335mm.Total cost of proposed project is $1,796,000
Koolunga Road (Rural Road) - 124409-23SA-RTR
Koolunga Road was constructed over 20 plus years ago and sealed 7m wide to accommodate the vehicles of the day. Access by road trains has resulted in significant edge break damage encroaching up to 300mm into the travel lanes. Significant rutting is also occurring in the outer wheel path causing stormwater to pool and creating a hazard for motorist. Council is incurring significant costs yearly undertaking repairs and fighting a losing battle to maintain the width of the sealed surface. The road is a critical community access route linking the townships of Koolunga and Brinkworth, where many children from Koolunga attend the preschool located at the Brinkworth Primary School. It is also a significant tourist route, popular with Gray Nomads following the old broad-gauge rail lines and traversing to the Flinders Rangers. Many of these visitors stay at the RV site located within Brinkworth. The road currently carries an average of 260 vpd during the peak harvest season at an average of 54 heavy vehicles and 190vpd outside of the peak period. The work proposed includes stabilisation 3m wide, 150mm deep on each side of Koolunga Road from the centre of the travel lane. The seal will be widened from the existing 7m to 8.5m by applying a two coat 14/7mm C170 spray seal on the 5.05km section of Koolunga Road from the end of the kerb and water table at the Brinkworth township heading north to Boucaut Road. Line marking will include centre and edge lines to help prevent heavy vehicles from straying off the sealed surface.Total cost of proposed project is $1,500,000
Ballumbah-Kinnaird Road (Rural road) - 124368-23SA-RTR
The main carriageway is of med-high standard, but the shoulders are in poor condition. The increased seal width will eliminate edge erosion ultimately reducing shoulder drop off and greatly reduce the potential of vehicles losing control and to improve the safety for heavy vehicle as this now major route for heavy vehicles. The proposed works on Balumbah/Kinnaird Road will include widening of the carriage way by undertaking profiling and shoulder reconstruction between Plane Road / Balumba Kinnaird intersection to Kielpa/Gum flat Road/Balumbah Kinnaird intersection. This will greatly improve the safety along as this is now major route for heavy vehiclesTotal cost of proposed project is $800,000
Range Road (Rural Road) - 124410-23SA-RTR
The resealing of the sections of Range Road, between Tapanappa Road and Parawa Road, has been identified as a priority in condition modelling undertaken as part of the District Council of Yankalilla’s transport asset management process. The nature and use of Range Road and the age of the seal makes it a high priority renewal project. Over the past five years Council has been required to undertake significant patching works on failing pavements along an 800m section of road, resulting in extended period where Council has had to implement temporary traffic controls to allow for safe use of Range Road. Previous PBS Level 2A Detailed Heavy Vehicle Route Assessment undertaken by HDS as part of the South Coast Freight Corridor scoping works, identifies the requirement for shoulder construction and widening for the for the length of range Road. In accordance with PBS Guidelines a 3.1m traffic lane width and 1.2m shoulder shall be provided for roads classified for PBS L2. For Range Road, between Tappanappa and Parawa road, there are large segments with poor edge condition and severely degraded or no established road shoulders. There are also areas where the shoulder has significantly degraded such that edge break of the seal is encroaching on the travelling lanes. Shoulder establishment, pavement renewal and resealing of Range Road will ensure that these segments of road will meet PBS Level 2A requirements.Full depth pavement reconstruction for 830m of road between Tunkalilla Road and Illawong Road. current Australian Standards. Establishment, reinstatement, and reconstruction of road shoulders from Tappanappa Road to Parawa road to provide a minimum 0.5m Sealed shoulder and 1.0m unsealed shoulder for the length of this project. Undertake minor pavement remediation though bitumen patching based on visual pavement failure assessment for the remaining 4.77km of Range Road, from Tappanappa Road to Parawa Road. Re-seal of 5.6km of Range Road from Tappanappa Road to Parawa Road with two coat spray seal. Update of line marking and review and update of advisory signage for the 5.6km of Range Road identified, to ensure that all traffic management devices meet, and signage meets current Australian StandardsTotal cost of proposed project is $1,200,000
Coolah Creek Road (rural road), - 052906-14NSW-RTR
The surface of Coolah Creek Road in the proposed work location is bitumen sealed and is badly deformed, which presents a traffic hazard for vehicles on the road. Furthermore, the surface is narrow in width which is a traffic safety hazard for passing vehicles. The proposed work involves increasing the width of the road pavement, overlaying the pavement with 100mm compacted road base material and bitumen sealing the surface of the road. Total length of the proposed work is 0.8km
North Coast Road (Rural Road) - 124411-23SA-RTR
The project aims to improve tourism appeal, improve road user safety and sight distance due to dust related environmental and health impacts, storm water and drainage issues. Closing the gap between the current and desired construction and maintenance standard of the road.Reshape table drains and other water management, including the installation of stormwater drainage infrastructure. Provision of culverts and crossroad drainage to coastal reserves. Road alignment geometric shape correction. Prepare foundation and provision of kerb and channel where needed. Top the reshaped alignment with PM2 pavement material and then undertake cement stabilisation strengthening with 2% GB cement to a depth of 250mm over a width of 9m followed by compaction of the same to 100% Modified MDD. Kennametal blade adhesion improvement grooving of the finished surface. Apply 10mm primer seal. Installation of traffic control devices (e.g., signage)Total cost of proposed project is $1,337,000
Chalet Vale, Preston Beach WA - 124381-23WA-RTR
This 50m section of stormwater drainage pipe is impacting areas, where the pipe isn’t level. Causing several sections to back flow and become filled with beach sand. This results in the drains backflowing and being unable to accommodate the runoff water which is then entering the roadway.Removal of the drainage pipe and installing a stabilised pad for the pipe. Then reinstalling 300mm pipe to prevent water not draining and flowing correctly. Reducing the risk of roadside erosion and water being over the road.
Stacey Rise, Lake Clifton WA - 124380-23WA-RTR
This section of road has inadequate roadside drainage with crossings being filled by erosion and runoff.Excavation of table drains, and reestablishment of drain based with the addition of limestone, as well as the addition of rock pitching in key erosion areas.
Elliott Street, Waroona WA - 124376-23WA-RTR
This section of Elliott Street is unkerbed and not adequately drained, leading to issues with roadside erosion undermining the roadway and water over the road.Construct Storm Water Drainage and Kerbing.
McAfee Court, Dandenong North - 124391-23VIC-RTR
The existing surface is in poor condition. Crocodile cracks, longitudinal cracks and pavement failure observed in McFee Court.Road maintenance including minimal Kerb renewal work, resurfacing and major patching application.
