The road pavement has aged and failed in places and the kerb and channel has failed or settled.Asphalt overlay of the road pavement and reconstruction of failed pavement areas along with reconstruction of kerb and channel. The section of Templeton Road is approximately 900 metres in length with a uniform pavement width of 10.0 metres. Innes Street, Elizabeth Park - 053248-14SA-RTR

The problem being addressed by this project is that Innes St has become a high speed environment. Innes Street extends from Yorktown Road to Midway Road in Elizabeth Park. It is a minor collector road carrying 2,090 vehicles per day. It is located in a strategic position, providing for access to a local shopping centre and the Elizabeth Park Primary School. The street is well used by children and others for walking to and from the school as well as the local shopping centre. During a traffic survey a maximum speed of 152 km/h was recorded during the evening peak period, whilst speeds above 100 km/h were recorded during the morning peak period. The applicable regulated speed for the street is the default urban speed limit of 50 km/h. The layout of Innes Street is a contributing factor; it is fairly straight with only gentle bends, 580 m long, and relatively wide at approximately 10.4 m. By constructing a traffic management device, motorists will be slowed down, reducing average and peak speeds along the road.The works proposed are the construction of a centre blister and associated lighting, signage and line marking. The centre blister will comprise median kerb laid in the middle of Innes St, and will require pavement widening, associated kerbing and protuberances on either side, creating a slow point that motorist will need to reduce speed to navigate. A traffic impact statement has been completed for this device and approval for its construction has been granted by the Department for Planning, Transport and Infrastructure. Council will contribute the cost of aesthetic improvements at this location such as street tree planting.Total cost of proposed project is $97,500

Gibberd Road, Balcatta - 127503-24WA-RTR

Watt Street, Wonthaggi - 127365-24VIC-RTR

Medium-sized cracks have started to appear in the seal, allowing water to seep into the road pavement, causing potholes and soft spots to form in the road.Asphalting. Additional source of funding is from Bass Coast Shire Council (General Rate Revenue).Total cost of proposed project is $150,000

Collector Road (Rural Road) - 127578-24NSW-RTR

Problems being addressed is the poor roadside drainage and rutting and shifting of the road surface and the loss of gravel surface which contributes to the poor wearing surface.Works proposed to be undertaken for this project is to rehabilitate 1.5 km of the road. This will involve drainage improvements and importing, spreading, shaping and compacting gravel and applying a bituminous seal to the newly rehabilitated road pavement.

Rhyanna Road (Rural Road) - 127576-24NSW-RTR

Lack of gravel, surface rutting, poor shape and inadequate drainage.It is proposed to rectify the problems with this section of road by installing additional mitre drains and cleaning the existing drains. The road will then be trimmed and re-shaped. Following this new gravel will be imported, spread and compacted. The road will then be trimmed to its final shape.
