Major Projects Business Case Fund

The Major Projects Business Case Fund (MPBCF) initiative supports the development of robust major project business cases for nationally significant projects and enables the Commonwealth to engage early with states and territories in planning processes to ensure broader Commonwealth objectives are considered as projects are developed.

In the 2023-24 Budget, the Australian Government committed an additional $200 million over 2 years into the MPBCF.

Australian Privacy Principle 5 Notice

Your submission, including any personal information supplied, is being collected by the department for the purpose of seeking public and industry comment on the approach and content of its proposed cost estimation guidance, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act).

Your personal information will be stored securely by the department. It may be used by the department to make further contact with you about the consultation process. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other third parties, except in the circumstances outlined below.

Submissions, in part or full, including the name of the author may be published on the department's website or in the Government's response, unless the submission is confidential. Confidential submissions (including author name) will not be published. Private addresses and contact details will not be published or disclosed to any third parties unless required by law.

Submissions will only be treated as confidential if they are expressly stated to be confidential. Automatically generated confidentiality statements or disclaimers appended to an email do not suffice for this purpose. If you wish you make a confidential submission, you should indicate this by ensuring your submission is marked confidential.

Confidential submissions will be kept securely and will only be disclosed in the following circumstances:

  • in response to a request by a Commonwealth Minister;
  • where required by a House or a Committee of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia; or where required by law.

The department may also disclose confidential submissions within the Commonwealth of Australia, including with other Commonwealth agencies, where necessary in the public interest.

Please note that in order to protect the personal privacy of individuals in accordance with the Privacy Act any submissions containing sensitive information, personal information or information which may reasonably be used to identify a person or group of people may not be published, even if not marked as confidential.

Collins Road (Rural Road) Bridge 620 - 058192-15TAS-RTR
Existing timber bridge requires restoration and replacement of the deck due to major rotA new single lane deck is proposed to be installed, this will reinstate the design load limit back to T44(44 Tonne)rating as required in the AS1720 (Australian Standard AS 1720 Timber Structures Part 1)
Roses Tier Road (Rural Road) Bridge 656 - 058193-15TAS-RTR
The existing timber bridge deck requires replacement due to major rot.New two lane concrete deck to be installed to reinstate the load limit to 44 Tonne. Currently the bridge has a 10 Tonne load limit with major logging companies in the area.
Dunkley Road, Northam - 058194-15WA-RTR
Existing surface fatigued. Problems causing by ponding of water on uneven surface resulting in pavement failures and cracking of existing seal.Surface corrections with isolated milling, kerb renewal and asphalt overlay.
Milhinch Street, Muluckine - 058195-15WA-RTR
Existing seal is old and past its lifespan. Surface defects have formed resulting in cracking.Reseal the entire section with 2 coat spray seal.
Lalla Road (Rural Road) Bridge 638 - 058196-15TAS-RTR
The existing timber bridge deck requires replacement due to major rot.A new two lane deck is proposed. reinstating the load limit back to 44 tonne. Existing concrete abutments will remain in place.
Gumtree Road, Bakers Hill - 058197-15WA-RTR
This is a gravel road connecting Gleeson Hill road to O'Driscoll street. Both Gleeson Hill road & O'driscoll street are paved. This gravel road is damaged and it cause ponding of water.Two coat spray seal with replacing damaged road base.
Oysten Road, Copley - 058198-15WA-RTR
Road & shoulders are not wide enough for two way traffic. Shoulders are damaged because of traffic over it.Widen bothsides and seal with 2 coat spray sealing.Total cost of proposed project is $51,070
Woolford Road (Rural Road) - 058213-15SA-RTR
Natural surface section becomes very slippery when wet impacting on access for landowners and emergency services.Shape and form 6.3km's of natural surface. Using crushed limestone rubble sheet 6.3km's of carriageway and improve drainage.
Malones Road - 058214-15QLD-RTR
The proposed section has the following defects: major stripping, potholes and patches over a large area of the road as well as isolated depressions.Chip seal overlayTotal cost of proposed project is $41,059
