Project description

The Salisbury to Beaudesert Rail business case is investigating the need and viability of a passenger rail connection and will seek to identify the land requirements for a potential future corridor.

The project is being led by the Queensland Government and is being developed under the Queensland Government Project Assessment Framework (PAF), which sets out three phases of business case assessment and development:

1. Strategic Assessment of Service Requirements

2. Preliminary Evaluation

3. Business Case Development

The Salisbury to Beaudesert Rail project has completed the Preliminary Evaluation phase, and is now considering the steps to progress the project to corridor protection.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $10 million to the Salisbury to Beaudesert Rail project, with the Queensland Government also committing $10 million.

Timetable

The Australian Government is continuing to work with the Queensland Government to progress business case activities.
