Major Projects Business Case Fund

The Major Projects Business Case Fund (MPBCF) initiative supports the development of robust major project business cases for nationally significant projects and enables the Commonwealth to engage early with states and territories in planning processes to ensure broader Commonwealth objectives are considered as projects are developed.

In the 2023-24 Budget, the Australian Government committed an additional $200 million over 2 years into the MPBCF.

Your submission, including any personal information supplied, is being collected by the department for the purpose of seeking public and industry comment on the approach and content of its proposed cost estimation guidance, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act).

Your personal information will be stored securely by the department. It may be used by the department to make further contact with you about the consultation process. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other third parties, except in the circumstances outlined below.

Submissions, in part or full, including the name of the author may be published on the department's website or in the Government's response, unless the submission is confidential. Confidential submissions (including author name) will not be published. Private addresses and contact details will not be published or disclosed to any third parties unless required by law.

Submissions will only be treated as confidential if they are expressly stated to be confidential. Automatically generated confidentiality statements or disclaimers appended to an email do not suffice for this purpose. Confidential submissions will be kept securely and will only be disclosed in the following circumstances:

  • in response to a request by a Commonwealth Minister;

The department may also disclose confidential submissions within the Commonwealth of Australia, including with other Commonwealth agencies, where necessary in the public interest.

Please note that in order to protect the personal privacy of individuals in accordance with the Privacy Act any submissions containing sensitive information, personal information or information which may reasonably be used to identify a person or group of people may not be published, even if not marked as confidential.

Moonlight Road - 059166-15VIC-RTR
Moonlight Road is a Rural Access 1 road in a rural residential environment where the existing road consists of 1080 metres length of unsealed road, which is 7 metres wide, is continually deteriorated due to poor drainage and poor pavement materials.The existing unsealed road is to be widened and strengthened with a deeper pavement, 7 metres wide and sealed to 4 metres wide.
Jeff Street - 059167-15VIC-RTR
Jeff Street is an Urban Link road where the existing unsealed road pavement, which is 254 metres long by 11 metres wide has failed due to new development occurring along the road. The road surface is rutted and heaved and has deteriorated.The existing pavement is to be removed and replaced with a new deeper pavement and the road surface sealed to provide a level safe surface in the industrial environment. Kerb and drainage works will be undertaken to effectively drain the road surface.Total cost of proposed project is $312,000
Possum Gully Road (rural road) - 059168-15VIC-RTR
Possum Gully Road is a Rural Access 1 road in a rural residential environment where the existing road consists of 700 metres length of unsealed road, which is 7 metres wide, is continually deteriorated due to poor drainage and poor pavement materials.The existing unsealed road is to be widened and strengthened with a deeper pavement, 7 metres wide and sealed to 4 metres wide.Total cost of proposed project is $200,000
Culcairn - Holbrook Road (Rural Road) - 059169-15NSW-RTR
Road currently has insufficient seal and formation width for current volume of vehicles and trucks. This section of road also has a substandard curve where a number of crashes have taken place.Reconstruction and widening to a 10m Formation and 8m Seal including the realignment of the substandard curve to provide a more optimal solution. This work is part funded with Blackspot funding.Total cost of proposed project is $722,308
Etty Bay Road, Rural road - 059170-15QLD-RTR
Narrow road with ageing pavement with increasing maintenance requirements.Reconstruct road and upgrade to 9m wide, including an allowance for two bicycle lanes.Total cost of proposed project is $1,087,568
Crameri Road (rural road) - 059171-15VIC-RTR
Crameri Road is a Rural Access 1 road in a rural residential environment where the existing road consists of 836 metres length of unsealed road, which is 7 metres wide, is continually deteriorated due to poor drainage and poor pavement materials.The existing unsealed road is to be widened and strengthened with a deeper pavement, 7 metres wide and sealed to 4 metres wide.
