Project description

The project duplicated 25km of the Princes Highway West from Draytons Road, Waurn Ponds to Deans Marsh Road, Winchelsea. The project constructed two additional lanes to provide a four lane, dual carriageway with a central median. The project also upgraded and signalised intersections, improved access to local roads and duplicated the bridge over the existing rail line.

The project has increased capacity, reduced transit times and improved traffic flow and safety.

Funding

The cost of the project was $164 million. The Australian Government and the Victorian Government each contributed $82,020,000.

Timetable

Construction commenced on 3 September 2010 and was completed on 30 April 2016.
