Controling through traffic speed, provision of safe pedestrian crossing facility, and safe right turns for vehicular traffic

Provide linemarking to differentiate between through traffic and parking. Provide a painted island to protect traffic turning right into Lockerbie Street. Provide a pedestrian refuge including blister islands at Adamson Street, and provide all associated signage

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
