Project description

Eggersdorf Road is a major link road on the eastern side of the M1 connecting Ormeau to the Jacobs Well region. The existing road is 2 lanes. When comparing to modern road design standards the road is narrow, pavement condition is poor due to a substandard drainage system and has limited turning provision. The road has substandard lighting, pedestrian, bus and bike user facilties.

Works comprise of construction of a 4 lane road-urban profile. Works aim to improve drainage and increase overall road safety by adding extra road lanes, increased pedestrian, bike and bus facilites, road turning provision as well as improved road lighting. The stretch of road for construction in approx 1.30 kilometres in length.

Total cost of proposed project is $5,919,000
