Project description

Following the construction of a subdivision on Robertson Road a short section of road remains unsealed between two sealed sections of the road. The existing unsealed section is narrow and an insufficient causeway on the road results in the road being damaged during periods of heavy rain.

It is proposed to upgrade the pavement , widen and seal this section. The causeway will be replaced with low flow culverts installed.

Total cost of proposed project is $168,124

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
