Project description

Weak pavement over reactive soils have resulted in both pavement and seal reaching the end of their effective life and require renewal. This project will reduce maintenance costs, improve user service levels and improve safety.

Reconstruct the whole length (approximately 360m for Baudin Street and 80m (part) of Tobin Crescent)removing both kerbs and footpaths and reconstructing. Note: works do not include the investigator Drive intersection.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
