Project description

Frome Street is a local urban street, serving adjacent residential properties. The road and associated infrastructure was constructed in the 1950's and is at the end of its useful service life. The road pavement is in need of reconstruction. New road surfacing is required and sections of kerb & channel and footpath need replacement.

Excavation and replacement of road pavement and new sealed surfacing. replace sections of kerb & channel and footpath.

Total cost of proposed project is $734,000

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
